Survey Launched: What Are Austrian SMEs Really Doing for Their Commuters?

foama, JobRad® Austria and Herry are launching a nationwide survey on workplace mobility in SMEs as part of the ÖVG Working Group on Corporate Mobility. Help us create a realistic picture of the situation in Austrian small and medium-sized companies – take part now!

Survey on Workplace Mobility in Austrian SMEs 2026

We know surprisingly little about what Austrian SMEs do for employee mobility. That changes now.

How many small and medium-sized companies in Austria offer their employees a public transport subsidy? How widespread is company bike leasing? Are free parking spaces still the default?

Honest answer: we don't really know. And that's the problem.

For large corporations there are reports, benchmarks, and studies. For SMEs – the companies where the majority of Austrian employees actually work – there's a data gap. Without reliable data, it's hard to compare measures, make recommendations, or develop meaningful policy frameworks.

That's exactly what this survey sets out to change.

The Survey: Corporate Mobility in Austrian SMEs 2026

As part of the ÖVG Working Group "Corporate Mobility", JobRad® Austria, Foama and Herry Consult are jointly conducting a nationwide survey – specifically aimed at companies with up to 300 employees.

The questions are concrete: What mobility offerings are already in place? What is being planned? What once existed but was discontinued? And what is missing entirely?

A few examples from the questionnaire:

  • Is there a designated contact person for corporate mobility?
  • What charging infrastructure is available for electric vehicles or e-bikes?
  • On the topic of rising fuel prices: have employee concerns about the affordability of commuting reached you recently?
  • Which measures are planned – or have already been discontinued?

Participation takes 5–8 minutes, all data is collected anonymously and processed in accordance with GDPR.

Why the ÖVG Working Group?

The ÖVG Working Group "Corporate Mobility" advances the topic of corporate mobility in Austria – with representatives from academia, consulting, the public sector, and business. This is exactly where this question belongs: Where do we actually stand?

The survey results feed directly into the Working Group's activities and provide a foundation for recommendations, best practices, and targeted support measures. The goal is to make this niche topic accessible to the broad majority of Austrian companies and to propose effective measures that are easy to implement.

Why Your Input Is Especially Valuable

In practice, workplace mobility cuts across multiple functions: HR, facility management, sustainability officers, senior management – everyone is affected, but few have a complete overview. Your participation contributes to a better data foundation and promotes interdisciplinary dialogue!

The results of this survey will provide:

  • Orientation for your own company: How are competitors and peers positioning themselves?
  • Practical insights: What actually works, and what doesn't?
  • More targeted support: What offers and funding do SMEs actually need?

Take Part Now – It Takes 5–8 Minutes

The survey is aimed at companies with up to 300 employees in Austria – across all industries, whether manufacturing, retail, services or agriculture. Deadline: 15 July 2026.
